The Church begins to warm up and to fill up, the piper is there to welcome all, and some of our guests arrive

Our Jubilee Mass was celebrated by Cardinal Keith O’Brien, and nine other priests of the Diocese. During the service, the words of the Parchment laid in the foundation stone of the building, were read out, and the invited guests representing political and community groups, and other Christian churches in the area, and parishioners celebrated the work done in the past by all the previous Priests, the many Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and all the parishioners and community members over the years who have contributed to the life of the Church in this area. Those present then committed themselves to continue to build the Church in the future, and to act in whatever way we can as individuals to bring justice and care to the disadvantaged of our society and world.

And after the celebration, there was of course time for a little bit of hospitality, time to catch up with old friends, or indeed make new ones.

And of course the evening wouldn’t have been the same without the hard work provided by all the many helpers, before, during and after the event. Thank you all.
